Description

Now, most of you know that Pere Marquette 1225 was the prototype for The Polar Express movie. However, I think the Erie 2-8-4 was also the inspiration because it has a much skinnier boiler than the 1225. And yes, you might think I'm crazy. But, please, don't rub it in.

As awesome as this looks, the front end of the engine in the movie is the only area where it resembles an Erie S-3. They simply removed the superheater, numberboards, and marker lights, but other than that, it's definitely a Pere Marquette N-1.
